Describe the adjustment to Japanese culture.
It was not difficult for me since I had been to Japan many times before. Daily life is easy in Japan. You don't even need to speak Japanese to survive. Apart from that, the food may be the biggest contrast, but it is still very “eatable;” anybody can adapt to it (whether you like it or not).

If you could give one piece of advice to a new international student or researcher, what would it be?
Be friendly to everybody. Don't be shy and get to know new people. And if you encounter any problems at any time, remember to tell your advisor or the administration personnel.
