Cross-disciplinary Program「Global Studies」
The Global Studies Program uses classroom activities to cultivate students with the skills needed to participate in an international academic environment. While the program is offered through the Senior Division of the College of Arts and Sciences, the
courses hosted by the program are open to third and fourth year students from all faculties. The Global Studies Program offers opportunities for UTokyo Students to learn alongside students from different cultures and backgrounds, acquire a new international
perspective, and develop the skills needed to participate in a multi-lingual, multi-cultural world. In “Praxis in Global Liberal Arts,” a required course component for program participants, local UTokyo students work together with international students
in discussions, group work and field work. For students who plan to study abroad, it will serve as a trial lesson before going abroad.

GS Student Staff Members
The GS Student Staff Members are employed by the GS/GSA program to support events organized by the GS/GSA program committee. In addition, they planned and hosted regular Lunchtime Gatherings and a Game Night for international and Japanese students during 2023A Semester.
Thank you very much to Arisa, June, Nicole and Taito for your contributions! You did a great job working in an international team and offered many exchange opportunities for students on Komaba campus.
Thank you very much to Arisa, June, Nicole and Taito for your contributions! You did a great job working in an international team and offered many exchange opportunities for students on Komaba campus.
Working as a student staff member at GS, I really had a great time meeting various people from various places and experiencing various things.
Spending time planning and hosting events for international and local students so that they could enjoy events all together as Tokyo students was an honor for me. Also, while working in the office, I was able to learn more about Komaba campuses' endeavors to make exchanges between local and international students and many other opportunities to learn all sorts of international-based courses.
Comment from Arisa:
Comment from Taito:
Comment from Nicole:
It was incredibly rewarding to work as student staff for the GS/GSA program. Throughout this semester, we had the opportunity to assist the globalization office in organizing events aimed at fostering cultural exchange and providing academic exposures, including monthly lunchtime gatherings, board game evening, collaborative events with circles, online lectures and more. The student staff position really allows us to engage in these activities from both the perspectives of co-organizers and participants, not only to gain experience in facilitating events but also to connect with many wonderful people! I hope that everyone who joined the activities had an enjoyable and enriching time as I always did :)
Lastly, I am grateful to the GS/GSA program for offering these diverse learning opportunities outside classroom, and I felt very blessed to work with Arisa, Taito, June and Seiko san. Thank you all so much for making such a supportive and caring team!
