Globalization Office

The Komaba Campus of the University of Tokyo is proud to welcome students from all over the world. The campus is home to the College of Arts and Sciences and the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Both institutions are committed to diversifying their student bodies by attracting students of different backgrounds.

The College of Arts and Sciences includes PEAK (Programs in English at Komaba), which is an undergraduate degree program taught in English. The College is also home to the renowned AIKOM (Abroad in Komaba) program, which offers credit-granting exchange programs with 30 partner universities. Thanks to these programs, our college attracts the largest number of international undergraduate students among the colleges of the University of Tokyo. The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences includes many different departments, a great number of which also have significant numbers of international students.

The Globalization Office (GO), located in the basement of 21 KOMCEE West, was established to serve the needs of international students of all backgrounds. It offers advice and assistance to international students while also encouraging active interaction between international and local students.

The GO sponsors various academic and cultural events. They hope to attract and inspire students of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds, thereby creating a truly global campus at Komaba. We have internationally trained multilingual staff members, who are eager to assist students as they adjust to life in Japan.

The Globalization Office also provides resources for incoming and outgoing study abroad students in the form of pamphlets, books and language resources. These are available for all students to use to enrich their study abroad experience.
