Asakusa One-day Field Trip

The Globalization Office hosted a field trip to Asakusa and Ueno on Saturday the 18th of October, 2014. This trip was hosted in particular as a “welcome field trip” for international students to introduce some of Tokyo’s oldest, most “cultural” spots. Japanese and international students took a boat cruise down the Sumida River, had lunch in Asakusa and visited Sensoji Temple, after which they explored Ueno park and visited the Shitamachi Museum, a museum in Ueno which houses a replication of an Edo period town, as well as artifacts from the Edo, Meiji and Taisho periods.
