How do I complete the travel procedures?

Your instructor will inform you about how to apply and buy your flight ticket and obtain visa if required. Please follow the instructions from the instructor.

Are there any necessary overseas travel procedures within the university?

Students in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences who intend to travel outside of Japan are required to register the necessary information themselves on the 'Notification of Overseas Travel' submission form.
 Additionally, please check the latest information and follow the instructions given by your instructor, as the procedures is subject to change depending on the world conditions and the spread of infectious diseases.

Should I get overseas travel insurance?

 Make sure to purchase overseas travel insurance. We recommend you to add options for coverage of cancellation fees and travel interruption expense.

I have a credit card that has overseas travel insurance. Do I have to get overseas travel insurance?

Be sure to purchase overseas travel insurance because incidental insurance attached to credit cards often limited coverage or insufficient coverage to serve as overseas travel insurance.

What is OSSMA?

OSSMA is Overseas Student Safety Management Assistance. Please take a look at the website on the procedures about overseas travel of the University of Tokyo, Graduate school of Arts and Sciences and College of Arts and Sciences.

Do I need to apply for OSSMA?

For more information on subscription requirements of OSSMA, check the website on procedures for overseas travel, confirm the obligation of OSSMA for overseas travel of the University of Tokyo, graduate school of arts and sciences, college of arts and sciences and follow the instructions from your instructor.

Do I need VISA?

It will depend on the travel destination and your nationality. Please check on your own if you need a VISA. If you need a VISA, please apply by yourself. Also, please consult your instructor.
