7.Tuition and Fees

In accordance with the memorandum on student exchange, exchange students will not be charged for examination fees, admission fees and tuition fees.

8.University Housing

Exchange students may apply for university housing arranged by UTokyo. However, because of the limited number of facilities, university housing may not be guaranteed.

9.Entry into Japan (eligibility to reside in Japan)

All students are required to obtain a ‟student” visa to study at a Japanese university. After the applications have been approved, the International Research and Cooperation Office will provide information about the process for obtaining a Certificate of Eligibility (COE). Students will then need to take the COE and other required documents to the nearest Japanese Embassy or Consulate to obtain a Student Visa.

10.Application Procedures and Deadlines

Exchange students need to be nominated by their home universities. Please contact the office responsible for student exchange at your home university and check the application procedures and documents necessary for the exchange programs to study or to research at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences/College of Arts and Sciences of UTokyo.

11.Submission of Applications
